Troubleshooting the Charter Bus reservation form

Common issues accessing the NMH Charter Bus form and their solutions.

Problem

The Charter Bus reservation form is used by students to reserve space on NMH Charter Buses before and after breaks.  The Charter Bus reservation form is primarily maintained by the Deans Office with support from IT for technical issues.  A number of things can go wrong when accessing the application and this article will describe the common issues and their resolutions.

Environment

The Charter Bus form is accessed by way of an Okta tile (pictured below) and it requires you to be connected to the NMH network - either hard wired to an Ethernet jack or connected to the NMH-SECURE wireless network.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Common issues:

- If you are not connected to the NMH network, you will see an Okta tile similar to the one below (with the lock).  Your device (phone/computer) must be connected to a RED Ethernet jack or connected to the NMH-SECURE wireless network. You CANNOT be using a VPN or proxy.

- If you try to access the Charter Bus form from Okta and you see the following, then you need to install the Okta plugin in your web browser.  If you use Google Chrome and sign in with your NMH account, the plugin will be installed automatically.  Alternatively, you can use this link and use your NMH login name (your email address WITHOUT the '@nmhschool.org') and password.

- Custom network configuration can cause issues connecting to the Charter Bus form.  If you see a message similar to the one below, you may have a custom network configuration that is preventing you from accessing the Charter Bus form.  Usually this means that a 'Custom DNS Server' has been set and it needs to be changed to 'Obtain DNS server automatically'.  This is an advanced setting, so if you are unfamiliar with the setting you should bring your computer to the Service Desk so a technician can update the setting.

- If you successfully made a Charter Bus reservation and need to change it, you need to contact the Deans Office.  They will remove your existing reservation and you will make a new reservation.
