Duo MFA: Verified Duo Push

NMH uses Verified Duo Push to make our accounts more secure. Verification prevents security issues arising from accidentally authenticating an attempt even when you are not actually trying to log in. This change only affects Duo Push — it doesn't impact finger print or SMS/phone verification. For those who have been using Duo Push, rather than seeing a green checkmark or red X in your Duo Mobile app, there will be a prompt to enter a three-digit code.

How Verified Duo Push Works:

1. Log into Okta as you usually would.

2. Once you click Verify to receive your Duo Mobile prompt, you will see a three-digit verification code on the screen of the device you're trying to log into.

3. On your phone, open the Duo Mobile app and enter the verification code you were just presented. Note: do not share this code with anyone; NMH IT will never ask for it.

4. You're verified! Continue signing in as you usually would.

Help for setting up Duo multi-factor authentication. Multi-factor authentication adds layers of security to your online accounts. Verifying your identity using a second factor (like your phone or other mobile device) prevents anyone but you from logging in, even if they know your password.
