Log Into Chrome With Your NMH Account

NMH IT strongly recommends using Google Chrome as your web browser for NMH-related activities. Further, if you log into the Chrome browser with your NMH account, it will simplify your use of Okta, etc. as well as allowing you to easily switch devices without losing browser settings or bookmarks.

  1. NMH-owned hardware generally comes preinstalled with Google Chrome. If you cannot find it, or are a student using a personal device, then you can download Chrome here.

  2. With Chrome open, click on the profile icon in the top right corner.

  3. This will open up a profile settings menu. You’ll want to click +Add at the bottom to add your NMH profile.

  4. A window will pop up offering to create a local profile (without an account) or to sign in with your Google account. Click Sign in.

  5. Chrome will direct you to log in with a Google account. You’ll want to enter your full NMH Gmail account, including the @nmhschool.org suffix.

  6. You will then be redirected to Okta, where you can sign in as you usually would.

  7. After you log in to Okta, Google may ask you to confirm that it’s you logging in. To do this, simply click Continue.

  8. Chrome will tell you that the profile that you’re adding is managed by your organization (NMH). Click Continue again.

  9. Next, Chrome will ask you if you want to sync your data. This means that you can log into Chrome from any device and you will maintain your browser settings and bookmarks. Turning on sync is strongly recommended. To do so, click Yes, I’m in.

  10. If you’ve been logged into Chrome with your NMH account before, then after a few seconds you should start seeing your data and settings filling in (color schemes, bookmarks, etc.). If this is your first time using your NMH profile in Chrome, then you can change settings and create bookmarks and be assured that they’ll be there for you no matter what device you’re using.
