Kandao Meeting Camera

Mechanical device with a 360٥ camera, a speaker, and surround microphones.

USB A to USB C Cable

 

Connects the Kandao to your laptop.

USB Extension Cable

 

Extra length for your laptop-to-Kandao connection. If you need a longer cable please ask the Service Desk.

Kandao power cable

 

Power for Kandao camera.

Extension Cord

Extra length for the power cable.

Laptop

(your personal machine)

Your laptop is the host of the Zoom meeting and makes the recording. It also controls the projector and screen sharing.


Kandao Setup


  1. Set Kandao on a solid surface.
  2. Plug power cable from Kandao to wall outlet. Use an extension cord if necessary.
  3. Plug the USB cable from Kandao to your laptop.
    • Longer cords will be available from the Service Desk soon.
  4. Turn on the Kandao by pressing on the top circle. The camera will extend up.
  5. The rim light will slowly blink blue when ready.
  6. Open Zoom meeting on laptop.
  7. In your audio settings (pop up menu next to “mute” microphone image) choose Kandao meeting as the microphone and as the speaker.

  1. In your camera setting (pop up menu next to camera image) choose Kandao.

  1. The rim light should now be steady blue.
  2. Use the classroom projector/screen sharing as normal.

Helpful Tips:

  • Some have found that the best setup for their spaces is to place the Kandao in the center, between them and the participants. Then set the Kandao mode to a horizontal split screen with no rotation.
