Google Docs: Voice typing

  • Note: Voice Typing is only available through the Google Chrome browser; it will not work in Safari.

From an open Google Doc, navigate to the Tools menu and select Voice typing.

You may see a popup appear asking you to allow Docs access to your computer's microphone. Click Allow.

A small window with a gray microphone icon will appear. Click on the microphone and it will turn red, this means it is listening for words to type. To stop Voice Typing click on the microphone again, and it will turn gray again.
