NMH Connect: Name Pronunciation Setup

The quick instructions:

1. Click on your NMH Connect tile in Okta.
2. Click on your name in the top right, then click Profile.
3. In General Information, click Edit and then Name Pronunciation.
4. If you see a Chrome prompt to allow microphone access, click Allow.
5. In the Edit name pronunciation window, click Record.
6. Speak your name clearly, then click Stop recording.
7. Play back your name to make sure the recording is clear, then click Save.

1. Log in to Okta, then click on your NMH Connect tile.

   

2. In the top right of the screen in NMH Connect, click your name, then click Profile in the dropdown menu.

   

3. In the General Information category in your profile, click Edit. In the dropdown menu, click Name Pronunciation.

   

4. Chrome may prompt you to allow the NMH Connect site to access your computer’s microphone. Click Allow. Note: if you see a message that says your microphone is blocked, you can access this setting in Chrome. Go to the three-dot menu in the top right, then click Settings->Privacy and security->Site settings->Microphone.

   

5. A window titled Edit name pronunciation will pop up. Click Record.

   

6. You have 10 seconds to record your name. Speak your name clearly, and then click Stop recording.

   

7. Play back your recording with the Play button. If you’re not happy with your recording, you can record your name again by using the Record again button. If you are happy with the recording, you can click the Save button, and you’re all done.

   
    

8. Once saved your recording can be found on your Profile page in NMH Connect next to your name. If the sound icon is grayed out and not blue the person you are looking at has not created and saved a recording.
