Devices on the NMH wireless networks (NMH-SECURE and NMH-GUEST) do not need to be registered with NMH IT.
Devices in use on the NMH wired network (using red jacks across campus) must be registered before connectivity will be functional. This is colloquially known as "NetReg," short for "network registration."
Note: For security reasons, cell phones offer an opportunity to ‘randomize your MAC address’ to increase security. This is helpful with public wireless networks, but at NMH this is not required. By selecting to use ‘Phone MAC’ on an Android or turning off ‘Private Address’ on an iPhone you can reduce future registrations. Note that this setting is based on network — not device — e.g. you should probably still randomize your MAC address in Hotels, your local coffee shop, or in stores.
