Departing NMH and Saving Your Digital Content

Preparing to leave the NMH Community can feel overwhelming. To help out here is a list of tasks and things to think about as you prepare for what comes next.

Accounts deactivated: June 3rd for students and June 30th faculty.

1. Email and your nmhschool.org address
After the deadline you will have no access to your NMH accounts including Okta, NMH Gmail and Drive.

  • Notify contacts with your new address
  • Update subscription services, social media, and mailing lists that use your nmhschool account
  • Change any website logins that use your nmhschool.org
  • Before you leave sign up to have any new NMH email forwarded for 90 days
    • You must OPT-IN to have your email forwarded to a new address
    • New NMH email will not be forwarded to another NMH community member
    • Students: Use this form to give us your new email address
      • Forwarding will begin June 3th and end 90 days later
    • Faculty: Please email servicedesk@nmhschool.org
      • Forwarding will begin June 30th (or after your last day) and end 90 days later

2. Google Drive Data, Shared Drives and Google Groups
It can be helpful to separate important items first and store them separately. You can then transfer, archive or ignore the rest. Students, be sure to save a few items you might need such as a writing sample, lab report or art piece. You never know when it will help with an interview or internship application.

3. Other Data and Content
Be sure to think about content made in other software, stored online with your nmhschool.org address or saved locally on a machine that needs to be returned.
